Autoimmune disease is one of medicine’s biggest mysteries. There are over 80 different known autoimmune diseases, and they all look very different. Type 1 Diabetes, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Coeliac Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Lupus, and many other chronic, invisible, and often life-threatening conditions are autoimmune diseases. 1 in 10 people, globally, suffer from autoimmune diseases, 80% of whom are women. There is currently no cure for auto immune disease.
World-renowned immunologist Professor Chris Goodnow and clinical physician Dr Dan Suan have spent over a decade peering through microscopes in pursuit of understanding and cure. But in the summer of 2023, a lightbulb moment changes everything. They realise they’ve been thinking about it all wrong and a new theory emerges: that all autoimmune diseases might be cured with the same treatment.
With backing from one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies, a clinical trial designed by Dan launches in 2025 across Paris, Delaware, and several cities in Australia.
